Interior Painting in Orange County

JL Pro Construction paints interiors across Orange County — walls, ceilings, baseboards, casing, crown molding, and doors. Every room is patched, sanded, caulked, masked, and spot-primed before finish coats, and we work room by room to keep the project organized while we're there.

Our Process

Room by room, not wall by wall

  1. 1
    Walk-through and color direction

We review each room, condition, sheen choices, and how many colors are in play before quoting a written scope.

  2. 2
    Protect the house

Floors covered, furniture centered and wrapped, fixtures and hardware masked. Nothing gets a drop on it.

  3. 3
    Patch, sand, caulk

Nail holes and dings filled, rough spots sanded, gaps at trim and corners caulked so lines read straight.

  4. 4
    Prime where it matters

Water stains, patches, and bare drywall get spot-primed so the finish coat holds even color and sheen.

  5. 5
    Finish coats

Ceilings first, then walls, then trim — with crisp cut-lines at every transition and consistent coverage.

  6. 6
    Walk and touch up

We walk each room with you and correct anything while equipment is still on site, then clean up fully.

Ideal Projects

When interior painting makes the biggest difference

  • Whole-home repaints before move-in, while rooms are empty
  • Post-flooring baseboard, trim, and wall integration
  • Pre-sale refreshes on a fixed timeline
  • Ceilings and walls after drywall or water-damage repair
  • Dated color schemes moving to a lighter, current palette
  • Single rooms, stairwells, and two-story entry walls

Interior repaints often pair with cabinet refinishing and wood staining so wall color, cabinetry, and trim tone are decided together. Working outside? See exterior painting.

Touch-Up, Refresh, or Repaint?

How much work does the room actually need

A few honest checks help you decide before anyone quotes:

  • Scuffs that wash off

Marks that come away with a damp cloth need cleaning, not painting. Scuffs that stay — or paint that burnishes shiny where it has been scrubbed — usually mean a repaint of that wall.

  • Nail pops and hairline cracks

Small, stable cracks and popped fasteners patch and blend well. Cracks that keep reopening in the same spot are worth mentioning at the walk-through so the cause is part of the conversation.

  • Water stains

A stain means moisture found the drywall at some point. The source has to be resolved before priming and repainting — ask about the repair sequence if you are unsure whether it is.

  • Color and sheen fatigue

Dated colors, mismatched touch-ups, and patchy sheen are the most common reasons to repaint a room that is otherwise in good shape — a straightforward scope.

What to send for an accurate written estimate

  • A photo of each room plus close-ups of damage
  • Room count and approximate sizes
  • Ceiling heights and any two-story walls
  • Colors and sheens you are considering
  • Whether the home is occupied during the work
  • Your preferred timeframe

Send these with the estimate form. Larger drywall damage is scoped under drywall repair first.

FAQ

Interior painting questions

How long does an interior repaint take?
A single room is usually one to two working days. A whole-home interior typically runs one to two weeks depending on square footage, ceiling height, how much trim there is, and the amount of patching needed before paint.
Do I need to move out during interior painting?
Not usually. We work room by room and mask and protect floors and furniture daily so much of the home can remain usable. Timing depends on the project scope.
Do you paint ceilings and trim, or just walls?
All of it. Walls, ceilings, baseboards, door casing, crown molding, and doors — including the cut-lines where they meet, which is where a repaint either looks sharp or looks rushed.
Can you match an existing wall color?
Yes. We color-match existing finishes when blending repairs or extending paint into a new area, and we can pull custom colors from any major paint brand.
What prep is included before the first coat?
Surface cleaning, patching nail holes and small drywall damage, light sanding, caulking gaps at trim, masking floors and fixtures, and spot-priming stains or bare substrate.
